Pure gold from a pure God

Exodus 37-38

In Exodus God directed Moses, and in turn directed the “skilled among you,” to specifically build the temple artifacts to the exact instructions given them .

Everything was made with overlays of Gold over wood (Acacia) as the foundation.  It was hand crafted out of the finest precious metals available to the Israelites at that time.  God deserves the best, with meticulous attention to His details. He is the God of particulars.

He is also surrounded by the finest available in one of the dimensions He resides in – Heaven .  On earth, as He comes to visit within the made-made temple, all things precious are crafted and available to Him in our physical dimension – earth.

He created them, all things precious and are used to worship Him…an overlay of pure gold is the best we can offer to a pure God.

An environment of precious stone and wood is constructed as it points to the value of shed blood.  Sin is the proverbial consequential wood while the blood that removes God’s wrath is precious and extremely expensive pure gold.  Inside we are the wood, without shine or polish, sin reigns and robs of anything that fits in any of Gods’ realms.  In Christ, the blood of a perfect sacrifice is pure gold with no earthly equal. In Him we are overlaid with it and protected in it.

Christ is the most rare and prized precious metal available.   As God provides the gold for the sacrificial environment, He also provides the pure and precious sacrifice in and thru Him.

Man is altogether dependent on Him.  The sin problem is all our problem.  Yet He provides all things, and that which saves us from aimless drift-wood to forgiveness and restoration, valuable as pure gold.  All from a pure God.

In Jesus we are now the precious gold in God’s sight.   Believe it and live each day as golden.
